Waking up during the night – totally normal
Did you know that we wake up around 30 times during the
night? Hard to believe, isn’t it? But it’s true – and quite normal.
The average sleeper wakes up around 30 times during the night. The three minute rule is the reason that we are unable to remember this. The next morning, we are only able to remember waking up during the night if the awakeing lasted for longer than three minutes. By the way, no one sleeps right through the night. Thus, the next time you wake up in the middle of the night, just remember that it is quite normal. It does not necessarily have anything to do with sleeping problems.
